Day 32 Seward, AK

This morning the whole Di Tommaso family got up early and went to pick up Elizabeth from North Star Hospital where she has been staying. Elizabeth is being transferred to Seattle Childrens hospital with Jennifer. The army and our insurance provided the transportation to Seattle and Childrens hospital picked them up at Sea Tac Airport. Us guys also went south to Seward Alaska we will be here for 3 days. On the way it was very nice out and would have been really good pictures if it was actually sunny. out.

Seward Alaska is on the Kenai Pennisula on the southern part of Alaska.
We're Staying at stony creek RV park 5 miles north of town. After we set up camp we had to stop off at the Seward Military Resort to pick up the reservation for the tour Fjord National Forest cruise. While in town we stopped at the Alaska Sealife Center and saw some really cool fish and things.
This is a Puffin-->

We were at the campsite and Matt and Jordon went on a walk up a hill and saw a bald eagle, they sat up there for about 20 minutes trying to get a picture of it flying away but it never left.

Day 29 - Anchorage, Alaska

Hard to believe - but we are at the end of four weeks now. Half way through our planned trip. But, of course there have been changes. We have spent almost half of the trip separated. Elizabeth and Jennifer in Anchorage, and Vince and the boys on the road. And now, we are planning the rest of the trip, separated still. As it stands now - Elizabeth will be transferred to Children's Hospital in Seattle on Thursday (their Tues and Wed openings filled up). Vince and Matthew and Jordon will continue on the route previously planned, but they will be at each place shorter than the itinerary was laid out. Some places that had been planned out for about 6 days will now be only 3 days. They plan to be back in Lynden around the 12th of August. We do not know how long Elizabeth's treatment at Children's will be. We are still praying for an opening at Ronald McDonald House there, as my reimbursement privileges end when I get to Seattle. Thank you for joining us as we pray for that.

Thank you so much for those who sent cards and letters and for those who still plan to. Today, Elizabeth (and I) was blessed with cards all the way from Florida and Washington and places in between. I will be able to retrieve mail until Wednesday, so any that were sent should be received just fine. Thank you for the encouragement. It was fun to watch her open them at dinner tonight.

Well, no particular pictures to post, although we went out to dinner tonight (after spending Elizabeth's dinner hour with her). We went to The Alaska Wild Berry Park where we saw the "world's largest chocolate fountain". Yummy!! There were some other cool things - like reindeer to pet and feed. We went across the street to Sourdough Mining Company for dinner. We enjoyed a great Barbecue Family Feast - and there was enough for the boys to take with them and have several days food to enjoy as well.

Vince also took the trailer in for repair today to Alaska Performance RV and Marine. So he will pick it up tomorrow. And we will move into a 2-bedroom barracks tomorrow as well. We have been blessed with the way the military has taken care of us.

Well, that is all for now. Thanks again for all of your prayers, encouragement and everything. You are each appreciated. (And if you want to leave a comment and haven't been able to, we have left instructions on the side of the blog.) Feel free to leave a comment!

Day 27 - Fort Richardson, Alaska

Today Matthew,Jordon and I left Denali. Of course it was cold, dark, dark skies and potential rain. At 6:15 we were on the road and then it started raining cats and dogs on us. We made it to Fort Richardson at about 12:15, after stopping for breakfast and fuel. We are reunited with Jennifer on post now and will see Elizabeth tonight.

At this point, we are going to stop posting temporarily until we figure out a plan of attack for all areas - such as continuing on the trip, transferring Elizabeth and etc.

Continued prayers are appreciated. Feel free to comment or email. Thanks.

Day 26 Denali ATV Tour & Rafting

Today the boys and I went on an ATV Tour. We had a blast. Matt drove a 1-person ATV.

Jordon and I drove a Rino 2-person ATV.

The weather was great today, unlike yesterday. The sun was shining, but not too hot yet. While we were on the tour and going back to the office 2 guys said that they were going rafting and asked if we wanted to go. I couldn't go but the boys wanted to go. So we checked with the rafting company and there were openings. So I am here posting and they are rafting.

Tomorrow we may leave here heading south to Talkeetna, and Sunday getting into Anchorage. Thanks for all your prayers.

Day 25 Denali National Park & preserve

How do we start today? wet... Nothing but rain.. Except now.. at midnight, in a bar.. oh wait... I mean in a restaurant with a bar next to it.
today we went to Denali national park with whats supposed to be North Americas LARGEST mountain.. But for some reason we didn't see it.. We went on an 8 hour bus tour going 66 miles into the park and we didn't see ANYTHING.. Rain makes EVERYTHING go away, animals included.. We saw dall sheep and one moose that was too far away to see well or take a good picture of. We did see a rainbow!

These last 2 pictures are of Jordon and Matt holding up antlers. Matt was holding a 22 pound moose antler. Jordon was holding up some dall sheep horns.

Tomorrow we will go on an ATV tour hopefully there will be no rain. We will post about that new adventure tomorrow.

Days 22 – 25 leaving Deadhorse, & going to Denali

It has taken a time to find and time and place to write and post the Blog and post it. So here it goes.

Day 22 We left Deadhorse heading South. It was raining and cold 41 degrees. The roads were very muddy, like driving in mud soup. Some places I had to put the truck in 4 wheel drive to control it and the trailer. We did see another Moose. Atigun Pass was dry and clear, thank God.

Four miles North of Coldfoot we heard a BOOM, it was one of the trailer tires with a big chunk of tire missing, (don’t know where the piece of tire went). We were in a construction caravan and we were going slowly, so we limped into Coldfoot and had them change my tire. We fueled up in Coldfoot and drove about 40 miles South, Pulled off the road and camped for the night

Day 23 We resumed driving south to Nothpole, AK, and got in about 2:30pm. Washed the Trailer (it was really muddy). And did laundry, and did a computer job.

Day 24 We left Northpole, AK to Denali. On the way we saw a smoke from a fire out side of Fairbanks that was started by lighting. The only other thing that we had to stop for is another road construction caravan. In the picture do you see the trailer with the yellow sticker on it? We caught up to them in Nenana AK. That was one of the caravans we were following and had not seen them sense Whithorse, YK. We had lost track of them as we were all in route to Dawson City, YK when we had our crises with Elizabeth and of course more rain.

we will post the next 2 days activities after our tours and other attractions here in Denali National Park.
